Exhibition: My Hyper-Realistic Peru

Between July 27 and August 15, 2022, Walt Wizard presented "My Hyper-Realistic Peru," an exhibition honoring Peru's national heroes through life-sized hyper-realistic sculptures. The exhibition was held at the Peruvian Naval Museum in Callao as part of the celebrations commemorating the Bicentennial of Peru's Independence.​

The exhibition featured sculptures of renowned historical figures, including Grand Admiral Miguel Grau Seminario, Marshal Ramón Castilla, Francisco Bolognesi, and José de San Martín. Each piece was meticulously crafted using medical-grade silicone and resin, with extraordinary attention to detail to faithfully recreate the physical appearance, uniforms, and distinctive features of each national hero.​

The sculpture of Miguel Grau, for example, was the result of a research project that began in 2018. The process included the use of artificial intelligence to analyze historical photographs and personal belongings of the Peruvian naval hero. His military cap and slippers were used as references to determine the sculpture's exact proportions, while his uniform from the Battle of Angamos was carefully reproduced to achieve the highest level of historical accuracy. 

"My Hyper-Realistic Peru" was more than an art exhibition—it was an educational and cultural initiative designed to bring Peru's history closer to the public in an innovative and emotionally engaging way. The exhibition received widespread praise for its ability to humanize historical figures and make their stories more accessible and meaningful to new generations.
